What you can do to be prepared
Emergencies come in all shapes and sizes, but a little preparation goes a long way in helping you feel safe and sound. Whether you’re anticipating a summer storm, an extreme blizzard or anything in between, we’re here to help you feel ready.

What we do to be prepared
We’re always monitoring weather in our service territories and proactively take steps to stay safe and prepared for changing conditions.
- We prepare our crews for upcoming storms, power interruptions or other events.
- Our service crews from unaffected areas are prepared to join in restoration efforts as needed.
- Additionally, we maintain relationships with outside contractors and other utilities to send crews to help restore service if necessary.
- We maintain relationships and communications with local emergency officials to coordinate efforts.
- We regularly conduct internal mock drills and scenario-based training to equip our teams to be ready to respond.
- We collaborate with local communities on emergency planning, training and preparedness exercises.
