Reliability Center shows their holiday spirit with a food drive
Reliability Center food drive

More than 100 pounds of nonperishable food items were donated to the local food bank in Rapid City, South Dakota, thanks to a team member’s holiday food drive idea.

Jenny, a senior operator in the Reliability Center, organized the special event. Because work schedules for operators prevent them from attending the main Black Hills Energy holiday celebration, smaller gatherings are held around shifts. This year, Jenny wanted to do more than food and ugly sweaters at the parties. She encouraged her coworkers to donate food, devising friendly competitions and gathering donations for prize baskets to make the event even more fun.

The drive was hugely successful, with the donated food delivered to the food bank on Dec. 17, just in time for Christmas.
