Peyton Parker Lane Playground unveiled in Nebraska

Children of all abilities and their families have a new place to explore and play in York, Nebraska. Unveiled in May, the Peyton Parker Lane Playground features several all-inclusive play structures ranging from calming sensory zones to outdoor musical instruments, massive swing sets and ziplines.

The playground was built in honor of Peyton and Parker Hoffman and Lane McDaniel. Peyton’s and Parker’s dad, Chad Hoffman, has been with our company for 25 years and is currently a trainer and operator qualification evaluator in Nebraska. Chad and his wife, Julie, advocated tirelessly for their two boys during their battles with a rare central nervous-system genetic disorder, Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease.

After the boys’ passing, Chad and Julie partnered with other families in York to create a fully inclusive playground so children of all abilities could play and enjoy the outdoors. Lane McDaniel was a local boy who died at age 8 after numerous medical challenges. Peyton Parker Lane Playground is the first of its kind in the area and is already making an impact in the York community.

Our Black Hills Energy Corp. Foundation is a proud sponsor of Peyton Parker Lane Playground. We are thrilled to have helped fund a cause that will spread joy to children of all abilities for generations to come.

We partner with our communities and customers, providing the kind of energy that fuels those areas and the lives of those we serve. Feel free to share the stories and photos. Follow us on FacebookInstagram, LinkedInTwitter, YouTube, and Pinterest for more!
